Pool water sits in a narrow band, about pH 7.0 to 7.8 with a working chlorine level, and rinse water full of cleaner sheeting into it does not help. We steer the flow away from the coping and off the deck rather than toward the pool.
Travertine and other calcium carbonate stone will etch if you put an acidic cleaner on it. Paver decks lose joint sand to a narrow tip. Stamped and broom finished concrete each hold dirt differently. We check what you have before picking a setup.
Coping, steps, the pump pad and the stretch of walkway between the house and the gate all show the same algae the deck does. Leaving them makes the clean part look worse. They are in the quote unless you tell us to skip them.
Pool water is never neutral toward concrete. Depending on its saturation index it either deposits calcium carbonate or dissolves cement paste. A hard white crust where splashout lands means the water has been laying scale on your deck for months.
That is the other direction. Water that is under saturated attacks the paste and leaves the aggregate standing proud. You are feeling exposed stone where there used to be a finish, and pressure will only take more of what is left.
State rules for public pools call for a quarter to a half inch of fall per foot toward a drain or the deck edge. Lay a two foot level across the deck and you should see half an inch of drop. Where you do not, water sits and organics build.
The same public pool rules cap deck offsets at half an inch before they count as a trip hazard. Settlement, root lift and freeze movement all produce them. Half an inch is the number and a ruler laid across the joint settles the question.
Public pool rules require enough hose bibs that a hundred foot hose reaches every part of the deck. Anywhere outside that reach is the spot nobody rinses, and it is where sunscreen film, pollen and organic growth build first. Look at the far corners.

Raleigh Stormwater requires wash water to be collected and sent to a sewer connected drain, and where collection is impossible, a drain seal or filter sock. Deck drains on a commercial property are usually storm connected, so they get sealed.
State rule requires a deck to be slip resistant, and a pool deck is the hardest case there is: exterior, wet and barefoot at once. We check the finished surface for residue film and note any offset over half an inch as a trip item.

Not the way we set up. We tarp or divert at the coping edge, work away from the water, and keep rinse volume controlled so runoff goes to the deck drains rather than over the edge. If a small amount does carry in, the dilution in a residential pool is negligible, but we still test the perimeter before we start rather than assume it.
